Eight years ago, Kelly’s life was forever changed when she was in a tragic car accident that left her unable to work due to serious injuries. Despite her pain, she became a full-time caretaker for her husband—who is also on disability after his own devastating auto accident. Through it all, she has been the rock of our family, quietly and selflessly taking care of others, never once asking for anything in return.

Recently, she was unexpectedly hospitalized after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. This has turned her world upside down. She now faces a long road to recovery, including inpatient rehab, prescriptions, and ongoing medical appointments. She will need to relearn many daily tasks we often take for granted.

We have since applied for Medicaid and disability benefits, but as many know, those processes can take 6 months—or even longer. In the meantime, our family is doing everything we can, but we need help.
