Class in Uganda!

Hey! I have been accepted into a study abroad program in Kampala, Uganda. This is a program that allows NYU students to engage in an exchange of dance and culture. I will teach as much as I will learn. Because I have yet to travel outside of the US for educational purposes, I want to take advantage of this opportunity, aside from the fact that in the spring I will be seeking a teaching position, and would like to use such an amazing experience as a dance instructor in a public school.

Upon my return I will have a plethora of Ugandan dances to share, as well as a new perspective on the way I approach teaching and classroom culture. In Uganda there is much more of a community oriented learning system in place when it comes to dance, which is in total opposition to the way dance is viewed in the United States. If I participate in this experience, I will have another layer to add to all that NYU has given me in terms of dance education when I teach at my church, in the local studio I work at and in the public school system of NYC.

I am seeking funding to assist in cost of the round-trip flight and the housing and trip amenities while in Kampala. Anything you can give will be much appreciated!

If you are able to donate, I may be able to bring back cool souvenirs...

Thank you in advance for your support,
