Sarah's Breast Cancer Battle
2020 has been a tough year and we aren't even half way. In May, our sister, Sarah, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is 33.
She has been rolling with the punches like the fighter we all know and adore. She made it through a mastectomy this month but the subsequent news from her care team has been difficult to swallow. Starting in mid July, Sarah will undergo 20 weeks of chemotherapy followed by radiation. She will have to take medication for the next 5-10 years to block the production of estrogen in the hopes of preventing the cancer from returning.
Of course, Sarah plans to work part time through the course of her treatment because she is a warrior. This will not be enough to cover her already surmounting medical bills. We have started this GoFundMe in the hopes of reaching out to all of you to help Sarah as she combats cancer amid these strange and tumultuous times. Even a dollar makes a difference.
If you know Sarah at all then you know you are lucky. She brings her creativity to work, her causes, and her relationships. Sarah is a beacon of positive energy and touches everyone she meets in a special way. Sarah, is a poet and a force with which to be contended. Now, she needs our help. Help her kick cancer’s ass!
