I am writing to ask you for immediate help. This funds will go towards my medicine, copays, deductibles, out-of -pocket expenses and anything that I might need to stay strong and keep fighting cancer. I am 45 years old. Last year in November 2023 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had my first surgery to remove cancer in December 26,2023, they cut in the middle of my neck. In February 2, 2024 I had a second surgery on my breast, because they also found a tumor there. In February 29,2024 I had radiation to try to kill whatever cancer was left in my body. In June 2024 the oncologist gave me the bad news again that cancer had spread on both sides of my neck to about 40 lymph nodes and I needed surgery again. On July 17, 2024 I had my third surgery. They removed about 40 lymph nodes, they cut open both sides of my neck. On September 2, 2024 my oncologist and surgeon got with me and gave me bad news again. Although, I have had 3 different surgeries and 1 set of radiation treatment, cancer is still in my body. Because of the lack of finances and support, I am unable to have the additional treatments needed. Therefore, the treatment, medicines and healing of cancer is delayed. I have been on unpaid FMLA since December, 2023. Right now, I do not have the deductible/copay/ out of pocket of $3500 my out of pocket is $7500 dollars to get even one of my medications which is $1,099.00 and that amount is with the use of a discount card. Every month I have to buy about 11 different medications because not only do I have thyroid/lymph node cancer I also have type 2 diabetes. Currently, and since I have been getting treated I have a need for 3 to 4 weekly appointments which require copays and out-of-pocket costs. These costs varies from $160 to $200 dollars depending on the type of doctor or specialist that I have to see. When I seek help, I am disheartened and often feel hopeless with the response, "You still have a job and you also have commercial insurance". Yes, I have a job, but I have been unable to work since December 22, 2023 and unpaid for 9 months. Because of the medical expenses I have paid, I am left with no money for food nor the finances to continue the necessary treatments and get the medication needed to heal my body. Although the medication and doctor visits varies, I am setting my fundraising goal for 10,000. I am forever grateful and thankful for your donations. No donation is too small. I’m not that type of person to ask for money, but I really need it. I admit that my pride is what kept me from asking for help sooner, but given this latest unexpected turn in my cancer status, I’m ready to accept your support if you have the means to help. Radiation and other potential treatment options will follow, and out-of-pocket health expenses while I continue to fight cancer. Please keep sharing, and I’ll keep fighting!
