Flo’s Celebration of Life
Donation protected
Hello, everyone. On July 6th my mother, Florencia Sadoy, departed this physical world and moved onto the next. My mother was a woman of many layers. She appreciated the commonly overlooked beauties and complexities of life. And she lived and played a lot of roles and had some wild experiences. She was a flower child, a hippie mom, a voracious reader and writer, a deep and highly intellectual soul, and a passionate lover of music. Her tastes ranged far and wide and displayed the illustrious spirit she had. Her vast knowledge and adoration of music was one of the largest gifts she shared with others and strived to instill into those closest to her.
She spoke often and openly about her ideal memorial. She wanted it full of music, laughter, dancing and good food with wonderful people. She wanted it vibrant and for no one to wear black. She wanted it to be a party. A reflection of her and as non-traditional as we could make it.
Though she left us in July, we decided to hold her celebration on October 5th. The day after what would have been her 76th birthday. And also to avoid the present high heat index. It is open to everyone and there will be an open mic for anyone who may wish to sing or speak and share their love and kinship with Flo.
As many of you know, death is not cheap. Because of this I am creating this Go Fund Me to help offset some of these costs and to assist in my family and I giving her the send off and honor she always wanted.
I know times are tough for a lot of us and I sincerely am grateful for all of you. Any bit helps and of course I understand not everyone can donate. Your love and support and the sharing of this is more than enough as well.
Thank you all! I’ll continue to post updates in the coming weeks as we put this together.
Love,
Amber
