Lynn Blakey died from complications of metastatic cancer on February 6, 2026 at UNC hospital with her beloved husband Ecki by her side, where he has been nearly every day and night since they met in 2006. This fund is a continuation of our community's support, now in service of Lynn's end of life care and funeral arrangements, as well as for care and living expenses for Ecki as he grieves and as he continues treatment for advanced stage colon cancer.

Lynn was a brilliant light, and an incredibly accomplished person, beloved by a wide circle of music makers, music lovers, church parishioners and friends. Tributes are pouring from around the state and beyond, and services at St. Thomas More church will be announced soon.

This fundraising is a “big group” project, so no amount is too small and every penny will be deeply appreciated. Since lots of people have left social media of late, I would appreciate you spreading this by more old-fashioned means to people you know who care about Lynn and her stolen German.
