On 8/25/2019 My Husband Jeremy Matthieu went to bed with a headache. In the morning he woke up to go to work and fell because he had no balance. He held onto wall and he felt like everything was spinning. He thought that he was just tired since he had been working 13 nights straight and had just returned back to days. He called in and went back to sleep. He got back up and felt worse. He woke me up telling me he needed to go to the hospital. On 8/26 I took him to the emergency room and they ran several test. Finally he had a MRI done and it showed some stuff they told us, so they wanted to do another one. They did another MRI and definitely there were lesions and at that time they told us he could possibly have Multiple Sclerosis and would need to do a Lumbar Puncture. He still wasn't getting any better. He had the LP done and after 9 days in the hospital he was sent home. During this time while waiting for results he was in Physical Therapy getting help with balance and speech. Finally it was time to go to the neurologist (longest 2.5 weeks ever) It was confirmed 100% that Jeremy has Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis. Jeremy has had MS for years and has always been misdiagnosed. Jeremy was still not better but now they decided to give him steroids to help him through this relapse and so he could get back to work. We are now a month in and his last paycheck was 9/3 for 2 days. Jeremy started the steroids and the next day woke up and balance was worse, face went numb, and was seeing double. We thought he was having a allergic reaction. Treated him with Benadryl for over a week and no change. Went back to the Neurologist and he was still no better and she feared he had another flare up on top of the one he was trying to get out of. He was put back into the hospital and was there for another 7 days. They did another MRI. We followed up with the Neurologist and yes he had another flare up and in 2 months had another active lesion on the bottom part of his brain which is why he isn't any better and explains why he is seeing double. While in the hospital he was treated with high dosage with steroids but that is all they can do to treat these flare ups. Jeremy has now been off work going on 3 months. I work from home as you all know and I'm doing the best I can to take on as many orders as I can possibly do. We are struggling so much. The medical expenses, living expenses and our income not even close to what we are use to has become to much for me alone. The last thing I wanted to do was ask for help but we need help and lots of prayers. Our family is struggling to make ends meet. I know this is a horrible time of year with all the holidays so I truly understand if you can't but we still would like prayers. Jeremy is going to therapy, still has numbness in his face, still has balance issues (drags his right side a bit). He finally started MS treatment 3 days ago. His FMLA has ran out, we need our insurance for him to get treatment and honestly I'm losing my mind. We are behind on all bills. Please pray that Jeremy gets past this relapse soon and will be able to return to work. Thanks in advance if you are able to help or if anything for your continued prayers.
