Hello my name is Dan(42/Tattoo Artist) for the past 8 months my partner Alex(34/Barber) and our dog Shep(6/Rescue) have been living above the worst neighbor I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. They bang on the walls constantly, starting as early as 5:30am and will continue until 2am. It’s extremely loud and violent sounding, like full body weight hitting the walls and floors. When I’ve tried to talk with them about the amount of noise coming from their apartment I was screamed at that they can do whatever they want and if I knocked on their door ever again they were calling the cops. We were ignored by my rental company for 6 months while trying to get them to do something about the clear violations of not only the neighbor’s lease but also violating our right of quiet enjoyment stipulated in our rental agreement.

When we were finally contacted by our rental company, I tried to give them copies of audio logs we have been keeping because the amount of noise coming from below us is so extreme. Our landlord said it was to much evidence and they couldn’t possibly listen to it all so they are just going to ignore it and since no one else in the complex has complained they are not going to acknowledge that it’s even happening. They suggested that we move. Shep is now on 3 types of medication because the noise scares him so much all he wants to do is sit on my chest so I can hold him while he shakes in fear. My partner and I have not had a decent nights sleep or a moment of peace in our own home in 8 months. This has effected of jobs, our mental health and our relationship. We are beyond angry and stressed to our limits.

We have been saving to move and are close to hitting our goal but things have escalated and are beyond being tolerable. We need to move sooner rather than later as every moment in our home listening to the same loud banging over and over is pushing me to a breaking point. Watching our pet cower in fear everyday is heart wrenching. We will be using any funds obtained from this gofundme campaign to secure a living space away from the current nightmare under our feet. I really hate asking for help but at this point we are desperate to move on. Thank you.
