The War Isn’t Over… I’m Rebuilding My Future.
My name is Alaa Wadi, I am 21 years old from Beit Lahia in Gaza.
I am writing my story with a heart full of hope, despite everything I have lost.
I grew up in a home that held warmth, safety, and memories our family’s place of comfort. Today, that home no longer exists. We lost everything. I now live in a tent, and every day I miss the feeling of having a real home… the feeling of safety, routine, and a life without fear.
Living in a tent is not easy. Nights are long, cold, and full of worry. I often sleep afraid that someone might enter our tent. It’s a constant reminder that our life has changed completely.
Throughout the war, I experienced hunger, displacement, and deep loss. I was forced to flee more than ten times. I lost two close friends who meant so much to my heart. I returned to my home for only three months during what was supposed to be a short period of calm, but the war began again, and I was forced to leave everything behind once more.
After months of losing our home and everything in it, I struggled a lot emotionally. It’s incredibly hard to watch your entire life disappear and have no safe place to return to. Our home in Beit Lahia was completely destroyed, and we had nowhere else to go.
Despite all of this, I refuse to give up on my future.
I love learning. I love teaching children and helping others whenever I can. Education gives me strength, hope, and a sense of purpose. My dream is to continue my university studies, rebuild my path, and give back to my community one day.
The purpose of this campaign is to help me continue my studies and rebuild my future.
I am trying to save for basic study tools—like an iPad and a simple desk, so I can study properly even in these difficult living conditions.
Your support, no matter how small, can help me stand again. It can help me continue my education, rebuild my life, and plant hope once more after everything I have lost.
Thank you for reading my story.
Thank you for giving me a chance to rise again.
