NICU Fund for Baby Cyrus
Donation protected
On March 25, 2021 Timmy & Sara Emerson's son, Timothy "Cyrus" Emerson, was unexpectedly born at 23 weeks and 3 days weighing 1 lb 5.2 oz.
After a trip to Labor & Delivery in Danville on the Tuesday night before he was born, it was determined that Sara was in preterm labor and had to be medically transported to UVA due to premature rupturing of membranes and dilation. After spending all day Wednesday experiencing contractions in labor and delivery at UVA, Sara’s water broke the rest of the way early the next morning. It was quickly determined that baby Cyrus was experiencing cord prolapse and needed to be delivered immediately. Sara was quickly rushed to the OR for an emergency classical c-section under general anesthesia while Timmy paced and prayed with the chaplain.
After many years of trying to start a family, Sara and Timmy welcomed their precious bundle of joy Timothy “Cyrus” Emerson at 4:41 a.m. He is their miracle rainbow baby. They got to hold their precious son for the first time, with the help of a team of nurses and respiratory specialists, when Cyrus was two and a half weeks old.

Cyrus is currently in the NICU at UVA where he is receiving the best care possible from the most amazing team of nurses & doctors. He is currently on a ventilator and fighting a belly infection. Sara and Timmy find comfort in how closely he is being constantly monitored by his caring health care team. They also find tremendous comfort in the prayers from so many.
These donations will help with the inevitable expenses that come with being born so prematurely. Sara is currently staying in Charlottesville close by Cyrus’s side while Timmy is traveling back and forth from Danville on the weekends.
Any donations, support and especially prayers are appreciated. More than anything, they ask that you keep their sweet Cyrus in your prayers.
