Hello. My name is Cyrus Colorado Ray, and I was working at Chiang Mai University in Thailand from 2016-2024. I have been a Persian-American university teacher/volunteer in Thailand since 2012. However, last year, my worsening cancer symptoms made it impossible for me to leave home on some days, and I became unable to perform my teaching duties and attend classes. Hence, I had to retire earlier than planned. I am reaching out for your support during this most challenging time in my life.
I was diagnosed with advanced-stage 4 colorectal cancer about three years ago, and the medical expenses are overwhelming. As I focus on my treatment and recovery, I am humbly asking for your help in easing the financial burden that comes with fighting this disease.
I lost my father a few years ago. My mother and my five sisters need me now, more than ever, so I don't want to die now. Besides, I still have many unfinished volunteer projects that I want to contribute to, in order to serve the world.

Here is a list of all the medical expenses and other treatment plans for my advanced cancer over the last 3 years, and their respective costs and hospital expenses. - Which has put me on the verge of financial bankruptcy. All of which I have paid myself (plus borrowed money and help from my family) because I have no health insurance.
1- Multiple X-ray exams: five times - $60 each - 5 x $60 = USD 300
2- Multiple sonography exams: 2 times - $250 each - 2 x $250 = $500
3- Multiple CT-scan exams: 6 times - $300 each - 6 x $300 = $1,800 USD
4- Multiple MRI exams: 7 times - $400 each - 7 x $400 = $2,800 USD
5- Multiple Blood Test exams: 12 times - $80 each - 12 x $80 = $960 USD
6- Multiple Endoscope and Colonoscopy exams: 3 times - $300 each - 3 x $300 = $900 USD
7- Multiple Chemotherapy sessions: 8 times - $350 each - 8 x $350 = $2,800 USD

1- A second emergency corrective Sigmoid Colostomy Operation to fix my prolapsed stoma and the hernia of my prolapsed stoma.
The cost of my second corrective sigmoid colostomy operation, plus hospitalization and follow-up care, will be approximately another $4000. USD
2- The cost of a final sigmoid colostomy operation, to remove my ostomy. Plus, hospitalization and follow-up care will be approximately another $5000. USD
3- Suan Dok Hospital - Simultaneous radiation and chemotherapy sessions using a tomotherapy machine for radiation: less effective, less expensive - Cost is about $6000. USD
4- The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Hospital - Bangkok - Simultaneous radiation and chemotherapy sessions using a Cyberknife machine (M6 model, 2012) for radiation: more effective, more expensive - Cost is about $8000. USD
5- Siriraj Hospital - Bangkok - Simultaneous radiation and chemotherapy sessions using a Cyberknife machine (S7 model, 2020) for radiation: Most effective, more expensive - Cost is about $10,000. USD

‼️ unfortunately, more bad cancer news for me again. Finished chemotherapy and radiation treatments, with no positive results. The tumor has grown larger instead of getting smaller.‼️ I am still suffering from extreme side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. With symptoms such as extreme fatigue, dizziness, and very low life battery power - a horrible feeling. ‼️ Coming back to Chiang Mai in the near future to undergo a 2 in 1 major surgery to repair my painful prolapsed stoma and the hernia of the stoma simultaneously with possible 2 weeks of hospitalization. ‼️ I'm now left with no other choice but to restart and retry herbal treatments, experimental and new medicines, and a possible completely opposite option for cancer treatment called "immunotherapy* as my last options and hope for survival. ‼️ Cancer has 12 stages, and I may have moved from stage 10 to 11 by now. These are not my best days in my long battle against advanced cancer for the last 3 years. Even walking with 2 canes is becoming more painful and challenging, as slow as a turtle, so I have to stay in bed most of the time.‼️ Lord have mercy , I pray for the strength and the courage to keep fighting for survival from this painful and lonely battle against my advanced cancer..
