Hi, my name is Shantira and I’m fundraising on behalf of my little brother, James, and our mum Rachel.
James is currently in hospital after being diagnosed with a rare aggressive benign tumour called Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA) - a fast-growing benign tumour located behind the nose and throat. Over the past few weeks, his symptoms rapidly worsened. James suffered a seizure on Thursday due to his decline in health. As the tumour is located at the back of his throat it has restricted James’s ability to eat and drink leading to rapid weight loss & malnutrition. James now has a TPN feeding line to help him stay strong while we wait for major surgery scheduled in January.
James is now staying at the Brisbane Children’s Hospital and his condition being monitored until a surgery date can be scheduled.
Our mum has had to stop working to be by his side every single day, supporting him through medical appointments, procedures, pain and keeping his spirits high. With hospital stays, upcoming treatment, travel costs, and general living expenses piling up, the financial pressure is becoming overwhelming.
As a family, we are doing everything we can to stay strong and positive for James - he is such a brave, funny, and resilient kid. Anyone who knows him knows how much light he brings into the world. We just want to make sure he has everything he needs to get through the months ahead, and that Mum can focus entirely on caring for him without worrying having to worry about financial stress.
Your support will help cover:
• Everyday living expenses while Mum is unable to work
• Travel and parking costs for hospital visits and treatment
• Special medical and comfort items James may need
• Recovery support after surgery
Any donation - big or small - means more than you know. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would also help us tremendously.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, supporting, and keeping James in your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.
With love,
Tira & Family
