Remembering Jax and Bruce and support for Courtney during this difficult time.

In the overnight hours between Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, Courtney's home experienced a devastating, total-loss fire. Two of her adored dogs, Bruce and Jax, were lost in this tragedy. This fundraiser is organized to help Courtney with expenses as she goes through the process of healing from this traumatic loss of her eldest dogs and to ease the process that comes next.

Courtney adopted Jax, named Ajax for the constellation, in 2016 when she fell in love with his one black ear. Early on, she and Jax shared enjoyment in fitness training, taking walks, snuggling, and sunny weather. Jax led her to discover the world of dog training and a new passion helping dog owners to live their best lives with their dogs. This grew to be her dog training, daycare, and boarding company; a locally beloved and successful business, and extended to rescue and rehoming. Bruce came into her life as an owner surrender in 2020 and she was immediately struck by his adorable overbite. Jax and Bruce developed a brother-like bond and those that knew them can't think about one boy without thinking about the other. Both boys lived for off leash romps at the many farm properties they lived at, naps in a sun spot, snuggles with their mom and each other, marrow bone snacks, and a real good couch or dog bed; of which they had many! Jax entertained with his talent of jumping six feet like he had springs in his paws, an easy trick for him in exchange for a tennis ball toss or, his favorite, ... food! Bruce, impressively super fit and strong, swooned with his gentle, easy going disposition. A friend to all, Bruce was always ready for anything almost with an audible "Okay!". Both boys were valuable team members within Courtney's business, helping with socialization and during training lessons. Bruce and Jax's lives were full of adventure whether exploring picturesque outdoor spaces daily, hopping in the car for a ride, or grand road trips across the country to see the world. Courtney provides all her dogs with the utmost care from enrichment to comfort, from the best medical care to nutrition, and, most importantly, dedication to providing her dogs with the best lives possible and ensuring each dog knows they are deeply loved. Jax and Bruce knew this and were lucky to call her their favorite human in life and always.

This fundraiser was created to give back to Courtney for her kindness and patience and for all she does for her community through her business that goes above and beyond for clients and through her nonprofit for those in need of help navigating tough times with their dogs. She is one of the hardest working, strongest people yet, in hard times, we all need help to lighten the load and make things just a little bit easier. Any donations are appreciated as well as sharing this fundraiser and the memories of these two irreplaceable, unforgettable dogs, Jax and Bruce.
