Please Help Us Keep Our Home

 

I'm asking for your help, for your aid, of any amount, to help me keep my home in spite of ever mounting divorce expenses.

 

After 26 years in an emotionally abusive marriage, a particularly violent episode warranted a restraining order to get husband out of the house, at a safe distance.

 

I was in a wheelchair with 5 broken bones and a cast up to my thigh at the time he threatened my brother and me with a knife. I was so frightened, very afraid for my safety.

 

He vowed at the time to force me to sell, among other things, even though the home has been in my name only from before the marriage. He's doing all he can to continue to torture me.

 

 

As of this writing, I've paid over $23K to my attorney and forensic accountant.  Husband continues to refuse to take/make a reasonable offer to settle. It's been going on since July 2019!

 

Though I hate to admit it, I'm to the limit on my credit cards. I have just enough 401K funds to cover a reasonable settlement. My credit score is tanking from the debt. It's a fine mess.  

 

This is the only home I have, the only home my horses and my dog have ever known.  To those who have been in, or know someone in, an abusive relationship, you understand the unending trauma it causes, continues to cause until a final divorce.

 

Please help us to keep our home in any way you are able to.  I have no place else to go. 

I'm counting on the graciousness of kind people to help us stay home.

 

My promise to you is all funds will go toward legal and accountant's trial costs.

 

May you never, ever be in a position to lose your home due to an abusive situation. 

 

I'm immensely appreciative of any aid you are able to give, especially your prayers for a just resolution.
