Hey y'all! My name is Mariel and I'm starting this GoFundMe for my brother as a Christmas present. His name is Cyd and he is a trans man.

Cyd came out in the spring of 2018 and was met with love and acceptance from his friends and family. He started taking testosterone in February 2019. Despite the affirmations that testosterone provides, he still experiences severe gender dysphoria with his chest, an issue that can help be resolved with top surgery.

Top surgery is a surgical procedure that creates a more masculine chest for those who are not comfortable with the chest anatomy they were born with. This procedure is very common among nonbinary individuals and trans men. 

Unfortunately, this procedure is not covered by Cyd's insurance and the entire cost has to be paid out of pocket, hence the reason for this fundraiser. 

Cyd is a high school senior and cannot raise enough money by himself to cover the price of the procedure and other associated costs.

This top surgery will greatly improve Cyd's quality of life and affirm his identity as a trans man.
