Cyclone Pam Vanuatu Disaster Relief
Donation protected
On Friday the 13th March, a category 5 cyclone with a 300km wide radius, hit the islands of Vanuatu with very destructive winds , flash flooding and possible landslides . It was reported on Skyweather that Vanuatu would have never experienced a cyclone like this in their lifetime. With the death toll already beginning to rise and the fear for missing loved ones, these beautiful people also need to face the dire truth that they may not have a home or village to return too. The local Ni-Van people of Vanuatu are so genuinely kind and generous beyond belief and they really need our help right now. 85% of locals live in rural areas directly affected by the cyclone and more then 65% of those live in small huts made with thatch roofing which is highly likely to have all been flattened by the 250km cyclonic winds. Locals do not have insurance, savings and now possibly jobs, so to rebuild their lives and provide shelter for their families will take a very long time. I hope to raise money to go towards building materials, medical expenses, bags of rice as their gardens will be destroyed and other basic living needs. This is such a tragic event and any help would go a long way, so please dig dip & donate to help make the rebuild process a little less painful.
