Cyclone Gaja Relief for South India

Donation protected
Cyclone Gaja ripped through the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu on November 16th 2018. At least 45 are dead, and more than 80,000 have been evacuated or are staying in relief shelters. This is the most devastation that Tamil Nadu has received in recent history. My husband Aravind lives in a village near Tiruvarur and had to fight for his own life and the lives of his family in order to survive through this storm, and thankfully they are alive. The majority of coconut trees have been knocked down, which not only destroyed my family's house and countless others, but has also ruined the main source of income for most families in this area which was coconut farming. There is currently no electricity or running water in this area, and diesel generators are the only solution at this time which is very expensive. Most families, including mine, have taken in other families from the streets or those that lived in unsafe huts, so this is also a matter of providing shelter and food to others in the village.

My name is Sandy and I am hoping to raise money that will help my husband Aravind's family to restore necessities such as a water tank, roof and window repairs, new electric power lines, and food for the village during this time of need.

Any amount, small or large, is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. I will directly wire the money to my husband Aravind in India who will then take care of all necessary work that needs to be done.

With Love & Gratitude,
Sandy and Aravind
