Bike ride for Nepal
Donation protected
Hello everyone. I'm calling in all favours, even if you don't owe me any.
A week ago I returned from Kathmandu for a planned bike ride to Cairns via western Queensland. I've now decided to use this to raise some funds for Nepal.
I realise there are many ways to donate, but following my recent trip, I can now make this more personal. Could you please help with a donation? Every dollar will go directly to families who need it most once we know what the situation of everyone is. I've spent the past nine weeks with these beautiful people who had very little to begin with and can't imagine their life now.
I am involved with a registered Charity in Nepal called Nepal Education Fund. We have 180 children sponsored and we pay for their school fee, books, uniforms and exam fees. No thing goes into andim fees, all of which is raised separately.
All funds raised on this site will go directly to our families. Each day we discover more have lost their homes and possessions and have no access to shelter, food and water so our immediate priority is to provide these. We envisage then it will be long term to get their lives back into some normality, especially with the wet season approaching.
We have hired a 4x4 in Pokhara, and with the help of local friends there, have been able to buy provisions and then deliver them to Kathmandu. This will be ongoing as long as we can find things to buy in Pokhara.
Thanks so much for all support to date.
