Welcome to my page and to the beginning of an adventure. I'm Lucy Sayer, an 18 year old college student, accompanied by her dad, and we are about to ride the entire country from coast to coast. Starting in San Diego, CA, we will ride our bicycles all the way to St. Augustine, FL, approximately 2,500 miles.
A couple of months ago, I was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Our entire philanthropy was based off of providing money to organizations that researched and raised awareness for breast cancer. During our Fall philanthropy of Race to Live, a 5k run, I realized how incredibly inspired I was. Watching all these survivors and their families and even just community members running this race to help find a cure was incredibly moving. In addition, at one of our chapter meetings, any people who had been affected by breast cancer were asked to stand up. The amount of women that stood up in that room broke my heart and made me realize that anyone at any time could be affected by this deadly disease, including myself or anyone close to me. So I've decided as I ride to raise money for anything related to womens health, such as somewhere that offers free mamograms or provides early diagnosis.
My goal is $2,500, but any donation you can make helps so much! Lets keep women healthy together! I'll be updating this page and my personal facebook with updates, pictures, and videos, so keep checking back in! Thank you so much! At the end of the fundraising I'll deliver a check to planned parenthood myself!
