Cycling 1,000 Miles for Charity – Land’s End to John O’Groats
Hi, my name is Brad Penhallow, and I’m taking on an epic challenge—cycling 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats with as few stops as possible!
I’m aiming to set off around the end of March, but I have a lot to sort before I can make this a reality. This journey will take me across the UK, from the beautiful beaches of Cornwall to the stunning landscapes of northern Scotland. Most of my route follows the National Cycle Network, using greenways, cycle paths, and country roads.
Why I’m Doing This
I'm raising money for three incredible charities:
❤️ Cancer Research UK – Helping fund life-saving research.
❤️ MLMC (Supporting people with learning difficulties) – Supporting mental well-being.
❤️ Battersea Dogs Home – Caring for abandoned and stray animals.
50% of donations will go directly to these causes. The rest will help cover essential costs to make the challenge possible, including bikes, equipment, food, and promotion.
How You Can Help
I know times are tough, and not everyone can donate money. But if you’d like to support me, i’d massively appreciate help with any of the following:
Cycling Gear & Equipment
A suitable bike for the event
Large bike helmet
Lightweight waterproof clothing
Cycle clothing / hi-vis gear
New bike chains & oil
Puncture repair kits (x8)
Phone mount for handlebars
Panniers for storage
Water bottles & energy packs (protein, carbs, electrolytes)
Bike lock, map, and compass
Pen knife
Vaseline (for those long days in the saddle!)
Stopover Support
I’m aiming for as few stops as possible, but I’ll need at least two stop-off destinations (hotels, B&Bs, or any offers of a place to stay).
Every donation—big or small—gets me closer to making this challenge a reality and supporting three fantastic charities. If you can help, whether with funds, gear, or even just sharing this fundraiser, I’d be incredibly grateful!
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️
