We’re riding to raise funds for junior cycling in the southwest region of Victoria. We want to make a contribution to getting more kids interested and involved in cycling – from riding to school, weekend adventures with friends, everyday recreation, to bike racing at the club, and maybe even state, national, and world level.

To do that we’re celebrating the 125th year anniversary of the first Melbourne to Warrnambool cycling race – Australia's greatest and oldest road race that has survived through the Great Depression, World Wars, and now the Covid19 pandemic.

On 14 December 2020 our small group will ride from the original race start line in Melbourne to the original finish line in Warrnambool (more than 300km). Our group has more than 90 ‘Warrnambool’ starts between us and includes past race winners and podium finishers, Australia’s first Tour de France yellow jersey wearer, Olympic champions, National champions, ex SunTour and elite riders, and club journeymen – all united by a love of cycling, and a desire to see it continue to prosper in Australia.

Riders:
Tim Decker, Rob Crowe OAM, Tommy Nankervis, Brendan Rowbotham, David Sturt, Drew Ginn OAM, Ryan Brodie, Duncan Murray, Tim McGrath, Lee Turner, Mark Ferguson, Craig Fry, Anthony Somers, Simon Gerrans, and Phil Anderson OAM.
