I am raising money to help fund my trip and to aid those in active addiction to get treatment if they cannot afford it.
Hello, my name is Mat Fee and I am a recovering addict and preparing to set a world record for longest BMX bike ride. I'm going to be the first person to bike across Canada on a single speed BMX bike. I will be leaving from Halifax soon as weather permits (May). The finish line will be the Parliament Building in Victoria B.C.
The reasons why I am doing this are to raise awareness to addiction and tell the story of how the John Volken Academy has saved my life. I should have been dead a few times. After failing at 7 treatment centers, I found my recovery at the John Volken Academy, a long term program that works. It literally saved my life. Now that I've been sober for 3 years I am excited about life.
