Hello everyone and Namaste.
My name is Thorsten Kotterheidt, and I started the fundraising campaign "Cycling for Nepal - 2000km for Hope." I'm 28 years old and a trained retail salesman by trade. But this was about an adventure.
On July 15, 2025, I set off. The plan was to cycle from my home in Bonn, Germany, to Izmir, Turkey. After about 2,500 km, I launched the fundraising campaign in Split, Croatia.
I didn't want to cycle the 2,000 kilometers to my destination in Turkey just for myself, but also to help others. Along the way, I experienced countless times the warmth and helpfulness shown to me by complete strangers. I want to give back these positive experiences.
I'm collecting donations for Swan Austria - A Heart for Nepal, an organization that directly supports aid projects in Nepal and ensures that every euro reaches its destination. The donations support projects in the areas of education, healthcare, infrastructure, and women's empowerment.
After a total of 126 days, 4,500 km, and 11 countries, I arrived at my destination in Izmir on November 17, 2025. I then took a break from traveling before setting off again on January 6, 2026. I flew to India, where I visited the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, and Varanasi. From there, I continued to Kathmandu in Nepal, where I visited the people of the Swan aid organization. Over the next few days, we embarked on an adventurous tour together to Katari in southeastern Nepal. In the region, we visited various projects supported by Swan. It was truly wonderful to see what happens with the donated funds and how grateful the people are for the support. This trip showed me that much good has already been achieved with the work and the money, but that there are still many areas where support is needed, and the people on the ground continue to require assistance.

Hallo, mein Name ist Thorsten Kotterheidt. Seit dem 15.07.2025 bin ich mit dem Fahrrad auf dem Weg von Deutschland Richtung Türkei. Nach über 2500 Kilometern befinde ich mich aktuell in Split, Kroatien.
Die nächsten 2000 Kilometer möchte ich nicht nur für mich fahren, sondern auch um anderen Menschen zu helfen.
Unterwegs habe ich unzählige Male erfahren, wie viel Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft mir völlig fremde Menschen entgegenbringen. Diese positiven Erfahrungen möchte ich zurückgeben.
Ich sammle Spenden für Swan Österreich - A Herz fia Nepal, einen Verein, der direkt Hilfsprojekte in Nepal unterstützt und dafür sorgt, dass jeder Euro ankommt. Derzeit wird mit den Spenden ein Schulprojekt in der abgelegenen Region Humla betreut.
Nach meiner Fahrradreise werde ich von der Türkei über Indien weiter nach Nepal reisen und das Projekt vor Ort besuchen .
Über meinen Freund Gerhard Ebner den ich auf der Reise kennengelernt habe habe ich von dem Projekt erfahren und war direkt davon überzeugt. Ich würde mich sehr freuen mit eurer Hilfe ein Teil davon zu sein und diesen Menschen ein Stück Hoffnung zu geben.
