This month, I’ll be cycling 1500 kilometers across Europe. I’m doing this to raise money for two initiatives, both are working with people from Gaza, one directly on the ground, and the other here in Belgium.
First is Grassroots Gaza (https://linktr.ee/grassroots_gaza)
This is a group started by Palestinians themselves, helping families in Gaza. They began in April 2024, when thousands of people were forced to flee their homes. No one was helping them, no governments, no big NGOs, so they started helping each other. First with tents. Then with food, basic needs, and support. Everything goes directly to the people in need.
Second is Gaza Stars,(https://www.instagram.com/gazastars48/)
A football team in Brussels made up of young people who had to flee from Gaza. Through football, they find joy again, and a way to stay connected with each other. They don’t just play, they organise themselves, they support each other, and they rebuild a sense of home far from home.
I’m doing this ride not just to raise money, but to remind us that we can show up. That we can show we care even from far away. If you’re able to support, even a few euros, it will mean a lot.
All funds will be split between both projects. I’ll be updating along the road, documenting the road and continuing to amplify Palestinian voices.
