Hello, my name is Caleb. I am 33, and at a major turning point in my life. I had been happily married to my wonderful wife Sharon for 10 years, this year. We had made so many plans together. We had intended to start planning a family at the end of this summer.
My wife suffered from a seizure disorder, since she was 13 years old. This past June 2015, I came back from work to find that she had seized and her tongue had swollen to fill her mouth causing her to suffocate. By the time, I found her, she had already passed. Now I am left to figure out what to do alone. Sharon and I both loved to travel, and I feel that the best way for me to honor her, and our life together, is to take a trip.
My goal is to cycle from her parents home near Toronto Canada, and ride my bike to Buenos Aires, Argentina. That was her favorite place in the world. Along the route, I intend to do volunteer work for NGOs and any other groups who can use a helping hand. Sharon was passionate about volunteering, and this is a passion that I can continue for her. I'm not sure how long the trip will take, but hope to find some closure, and perhaps a direction to take my life from here on. The funds raised will go to purchasing the necessary gear, and help to support me while on the road. I hope you will find it in your heart to give what you can. Anything at all helps.
