This September Assistant Librarian, Hannah Lee, will participate in the Cycling for Libraries Conference 2015. This conference brings Librarians and library lovers from around the world together to meet, network, discuss libraries and library trends, and visit libraries in different countries; all while biking through European landscapes.
Each year this conference is held in various parts of Europe, and this year the conference has been named New Nordic. Oslo, Norway will be the starting point for the tour; the tour will make its way through coastal Norway into Sweden, stopping in various Swedish towns including Gothenburg, and eventually end at the destination of Aarhus, Denmark. In total, this biking tour and library conference will last ten days (September 1st – 10th), and will cover approximately 600 kilometres, include 3 ferries, and visit more than 20 different libraries.
Coaldale Public Library is excited that our Assistant Librarian, Hannah, has the chance to partake in this amazing and unique opportunity. And YOU can be involved too! Each of the 600 kilometers of this biking tour can be pledged at $10 per kilometer. All the money raised for the Cycling for Libraries Campaign will go directly to enhancing technology resources at the Coaldale Public Library.
