Cycle Vancouver to San Diego - Charity fundraiser

Dear contributor,

My name is Jack, I am 24 from Dorset and I have taken on the challenge of cycling the length of the USA West Coast to fundraise for Sea Shephard and Dorset Mind. I plan to complete the trip in 3 weeks covering 100 miles a day on average for 19 days.

I have grown up by the coast and other incredible natural spaces. I feel I need to do my bit to preserve these for the next generation. This is where Sea Shephard come in - their incredible marine conservation work helps protect the oceans from overfishing and pollution as best as I have seen possible. They cannot do that without donations from us.

In recent years, with the global pandemic and unfathomable changes to our world, the importance of mental health support has become so clear to me. I want to show my support for the amazing work that Mind Charity does across the world.

I have set up this gofundme to allow you, the contributor, to decide the end location of your funds. However, you see fit to split them across the chosen charities or donating to the trip cost itself. Please leave a note on your contribution to say where you would like them sent! 

I would describe myself as considerably ordinary in terms of fitness and mental strength so I have chosen this challenge as it is far beyond my current capabilities in these areas. The mental challenge I will endure completing 100 miles a day for the length of the trip is going to be immense. I hope this inspires you to support the charities I have chosen.

Of course, this trip will not be without significant costs which I am hoping to cover myself, however, if you would like to contribute to any costs of the trip, I would be immensely grateful as this will give me the best opportunity to complete this challenge.
