CHARITY BIKE RIDE FOR MAXTON THE BRAVE

My name is Chris, I will be pushing myself to the limit over two days cycling from Skegness → Shildon in the North East which is a gruelling 180 miles over two Days in August 2026 to help raise vital funds to get Maxton the equipment he so desperately needs at this time at a cost of £2000.

This is Maxton now known as #MaxtontheBrave

Maxton was born not breathing he fought all the odds and came home. as Maxton grew he was a little different than others, Maxton has autism along with that he has sensory disorder, global developmental delays ,ARFID (food disorder) and is non-verbal. Just before his 2nd birthday he found his legs then a few short months after developed a limp and then within a week or so he lost the use of both legs. He just wasn’t himself, then the 5th trip to our local hospital they did more test and maxton was blue lighted to the RVI in Newcastle where mum was told he had a rare form of leukaemia.
This little boy had already gone through so much in his 2 short years of life but throughout his strength each and every day was like no other. He fights as hard as the day he was born he is just ment to be here on earth, and he fought hard to regain the use of both legs and is running around with a smile on his face.

Maxton has undergone multiple surgeries multiple chemotherapy’s and suffered a severe blood infection, he has a Hickman line in his chest and NG tube in his nose to help us give him oral meds and occasional feeds.

With Maxton’s complex needs he cannot be left unattended at any point night or day. As he has no sense of danger or the dangers around him , for Maxton’s safety he is in need of a safety bed unfortunately these beds cost £2000+.

A safety bed for Maxton is a bed that's made of soft material, a bed that is enclosed so he can not hurt himself or get out and wonder , a safety bed would be a safe place on a night for him to sleep and so mum and dad not to do shifts to ensure safety.

From the 10th of September 2026 Maxton. Will be 1 year into intense treatment and he will be 5 years old before he hits remission as a family we are in high spirits that Maxton will one day be cancer free with the help of all the walking angels here on earth that work at the RVI. Newcastle.

Maxton the brave is the bravest of them all x
