Cycle 300 Miles for American Cancer Society

Tax deductible
FINAL UPDATE! We completed our mission, 311 miles. Mark was right there or far behind in some cases as we pedaled over 50 miles each day of our challenge. This exhilarating American Cancer Society’s Bike Challenge was truly a spiritual experience for me. Cycling through nature (and a few cities) provided so many opportunities to reflect on the family and friends I have lost or are battling the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. I am so grateful to have 10 years of survival this month to celebrate the cycling adventure! I thought about all the many people that helped me throughout this journey. Surgeons, doctors, nurse practioners, the many nurses who were there as I went through my battle. And most importantly, my family and friends who had to put up with fear and anxiety through it all. In the 8 weeks of radiation, I met so many unbelievable women who had endured so much more than me from chemo to radiation treatments and repeat sessions at that. Their spirit kept me strong as they shared their stories. Some lost their battle, but their strength continues to inspire me each and every day.

I am so appreciative of the many folks who supported me through generous donations. I am over $2000 and am hoping for a few more dollars that will help support all the many programs, services and research of the American Cancer Society.

We have all been touched by cancer. All your contributions can only help someone else along the way as we battle this horrible disease. If you can, won’t you consider making a donation to the 300 Mile Cycle challenge? We will be doing another long trek this week and smaller rides too! Thank you for all the generous donations!

August marks a truly special milestone for me: 10 years breast cancer-free! I'm incredibly grateful for every single person who supported me through that journey and all the care I received and continue to receive.

I will never forget the day I met my wonderful and compassionate surgeon as she explained the road forward. I looked at her crying and said, “Please help me see my daughter graduate from high school.” Fast forward, and my beautiful, loving daughter is 25 and planning a wedding for next year. Three weeks after the surgery, I participated in the Race for the Cure, walking 3 miles alongside incredible people, families, friends, and survivors like me, all celebrating life!

Cancer, in some way, touches all of us. Whether it's a personal battle, a family member, or a friend, we've all felt its impact. That's why I'm channeling my gratitude into action this August. My amazing husband, Mark, and I are taking on the American Cancer Society's 300-mile cycling challenge. Together, we're committing to ride at least 300 miles each throughout the month to raise vital funds for cancer research, patient support, and prevention.

Join us in making a difference! Every donation, big or small, helps the American Cancer Society continue its incredible work. My current contributions total over $500, but I would like to see this number grow with your help.

Thank you for being a part of my journey, and for helping us fight for a world free from cancer. Let's pedal towards hope!
