Cycle 300 Miles for American Cancer Society

Hello, & Welcome to my ACS [300 miles in August] event page. Yes, I'm riding 300+ (now, @360 - Yay! ) miles in the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer. Having lost many (*1) to this disease (including Dad, cousins, classmates & friends), this is a very meaningful cause for me. As planned, a huge chunk (155, over 1/2 of 300 mi target) of miles kicked in once the seashore's mostly flat terrain became my riding backdrop. It provided an early-finish opportunity, & a chance to go above & beyond the goal. It's notable that 360 was my final number, as doing this event was a real 360 / full-circle one for me.

In reconnecting with some old classmates for a prior ride event (ALS United Ride, June '25, an event on my hit list for a LONG time), I learned of the passing of a former classmate and friend, from a long battle with cancer. This then led me to "check off" another long-desired event (this one, with ACS), as I'd already had several special people to honor for this cause as well. Then, to top it off, I had the chance to be part of a morning flag-raising ceremony in Ocean City, NJ during my last ride segment. It doesn't get much better than that!
