I linked this fundraiser to my participation in the DAMN gravel bicycle race (Day Across MN) that occurred on August 2nd, aligning my fundraising efforts with a personal physical challenge. Here are the details! At midnight I started riding my bicycle from Gary, SD to cross the state of Minnesota in less than 24 hours on gravel roads. Despite the arduous journey, overcoming fatigue and rough terrain, I triumphed in completing the ride successfully. I completed the 243 mile course in 19 hours and finished 99th out of 376 riders. My wife, Cristina, played a pivotal role as my support crew, offering encouragement and assistance every 60 miles, ensuring my physical and mental well-being throughout the challenging race. My friend and riding companion Dennis accompanied me every mile, sharing in the triumphs and struggles of the challenging journey, forming an unbreakable bond through our shared experience. Both members of my team played indispensable roles in my race achievement, providing unwavering support and motivation that fueled my determination and performance throughout the challenging course.
