This month has been a special one for me. After being sidelined by injuries that kept me away from all sports—including cycling—I’ve been working hard to get back into my training regimen and back on the bike consistently. Along the way, I discovered that the American Cancer Society is running a challenge: ride 300 miles in August to fight cancer.
This cause hits close to home. My father is a cancer survivor, and this year several people close to me have been diagnosed with cancer. Seeing their strength and resilience has inspired me to do my part. Riding is something I love, and if I can use it to raise awareness and funds for such an important cause, I’m all in.
Even though I joined the challenge a bit late, I’ve already ridden 267 miles this month—and I’m determined to hit the 300-mile goal. Every mile is dedicated to the fighters, the survivors, and the loved ones we’ve lost.
If you’re able, please consider donating whatever you can to support the American Cancer Society. Together, we can make a difference and help kick cancer’s ass.
