Help for Frank

Our brother, Frank Mangano, was diagnosed with ALS in July. Sadly, there is no cure. It is a rapidly progressive and debilitating disease. Frank has always been a hard-working, loving husband to Patti and a devoted father to Michael and Reilly. He is now unable to fully care for himself and provide for his family. As a result, their lives have changed drastically.

While we are all trying our best to cope with this devastating illness, we are amazed every day at how Frank maintains his sense of humor and positive attitude.  He has always been one to quickly help others and volunteer his time in our family and within the Rockaway community.  He may have been a coach to one of your children. Perhaps Patti was a teacher who made a difference in your child's life. Maybe your kids grew up with theirs. So many people have reached out to ask what they can do to help. We are starting this GoFundMe page in an effort to assist Frank and his family with some of the obstacles they now face.

While some modifications have already been made to their home, there are many more to be done that would be a tremendous help to Frank. Getting in and out of a car is very difficult for him. As his muscles weaken, he needs assistance with the simplest tasks. In order to get to and from doctor appointments and other outings, a wheelchair-accessible van would be a tremendous relief. There will also be significant medical expenses that are sure to become a heavy burden. Frank and his family have been fortunate in the past few weeks to receive help from the community, friends, & family, but they have a very long road ahead.
