Megan and I are on a mission to raise funds to attend the 13th Annual Homeless World Cup taking place in Amsterdam on September 12th, 2015 with a key focus on supporting our players by sharing the message of hope, and recovery.

It has been a true blessing to be a part of
Street Soccer USA  (soccer for social change), an organization dedicated to overcoming homelessness and hopelessness.

Street Soccer USA is a nonprofit that empowers men, women, and children in the US and around the world to break the cycle of addiction and abuse, find employment and stable housing, live healthier lives and become positive role models and leaders in their communities.

Sacramento's annualized count of 5,218 persons are to experience homelessness in 2015. There are men, women, and children without a permanent place to sleep on any given night; primary causes:
* chronic substance abuse
* family is chronically homeless
* victims of domestic abuse

Representing your country in the Homeless World Cup  is an unimaginable honor that exemplifies each player’s two-year commitment to hard work, and dedication to personal growth through the Street Soccer program.
As former Ambassadors and players in the 2014 Homeless World Cup in Santiago, Chile, Megan and I have experienced the extraordinary outcomes of positive change in our lives, and so have over 500 players worldwide.

From the initial moment of joining Street Soccer USA's Sacramento Lady Salamanders , the mentorship and team support has become the heartbeat and inspiration of self improvement and our desire to help other women. Our isolated behavior and depleted quality of life had been restored.

We have witnessed firsthand the success rate of continued sobriety, goal setting, education and enduring relationships through the power of soccer.
My favorite "Street Soccer Skills" by far are "Showing Up" and "Playing With Heart.” I must say, there has been no greater amplification to the positive change in my life than simply honing the ability to just "show up" ... for my life, and for others.

By attending the 2015 Homeless World Cup in Amsterdam, Megan and I will be able to utilize our teamwork, fundamental, and leadership skills to provide support as Alumni Ambassadors and to be of service to Team USA’s homeless and formerly homeless players.
With our serendipitous new lease on life—and given the chance to "pay it forward" to all those in our community and around the globe—we will hold scheduled meetings and share our strength, hope and experience to keep the powerful message of recovery alive during such an exciting, momentous occasion. We were once where these players are today.  By showing how far we've come and being a supporting role, Megan and I want to continue to be an inspiration!

When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved. Your contributions will enable us to "show up" and "play with heart" and be a message of hope for this year's ambassadors. Together change is possible!

Thank you so much for your support!
