Last week, our dear friend and vital member of our music community, Cy Rogers, had an accident and completely wrecked his knee. Altogether, he tore his ACL, MCL, PCL, tore his meniscus and dislocated both knees. The injuries are going to require multiple surgeries and massive reconstruction. As of right now there is no telling how long he will be imobile, but it will be at least a year before he's back up to normal Cy strength.
I'm starting this GoFundMe in order to alleviate the gigantic cost to Cy and his family. The medical bills are going to be astronomical and insurance is going to cover little to no cost for the accident and the resulting surgery/recovery/physical therapy that he will have to endure. All of Cy's jobs require him to be up on his feet and mobile, so he will be out of work for an extended period of time.
Here is a detailed list of everything happened to Cy's knee:
MRI indicates:
1) Minimally depressed fracture of the lateral tibial plateau along the anterior margin. Cartilaginous defect is also seen at the fracture site.
2) Complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament at the libial insertion.
3) Complete tear of the posterior cruciate ligament with buckling of the ligament.
4) Complete rupture of the conjoined tendon from the fibular head with buckling of the lateral collateral ligament and biceps femoris tendon.
5) Complete tear of the popliteus tendon.
6) The fabellofibular ligament arcuate ligament are not seen here but are likely also torn.
We all love Cy and know how much he does for his friends and Wichita in general. He isn't one to ask for handouts or favors but I strongly believe in this community pulling together when one of our own is in need. Please consider donating some cash and helping Cy out.
