Hi Everyone! I started this fundraiser for my sister Kathleen who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer!!
This recent diagnosis has hit her pretty hard mentally, physically, emotionally but most of all FINANCIALLY. If anyone has ever dealt with a cancer diagnosis, then you know the overwhelming amount of appointments that have to take place; the copayments that accompany those appointments; and the gas it takes to go back and forth. I couldn’t imagine having to go through Karsen’s cancer diagnosis with just one income. We already know that she will have to undergo one complete breast mastectomy…the other is still in question as the doctors did find additional spots in the second breast during her MRI last week. She may have to undergo a complete double mastectomy.
She is scheduled to repeat the breast biopsy on both breast now under MRI guided scope to check the additional spots seen in the first MRI.
As many of you know, she’s survived on her own for several years on a single income. Which is extremely hard to do here in San Diego without having to face a medical diagnosis. She tends to live a pretty simple lifestyle just to make ends meet from month to month.
The struggle is truly real!!!
On a single income, the amount of time she will be missing from work to go to appointments, have surgery, then down time for recovery and more…she just cannot financially survive on her own like this.
PLEASE…I am asking for any help that can be donated. Kathleen tends to keep her personal life to herself. She never asks anyone for anything. But I believe that we as her friends and family can offer her the support she truly deserves to help her through this trying time and walk with her through this journey!
