National 3 Peaks Challenge - 24 hours
Donation protected
THE WHY:
Karl Welborn is the Director and Consultant Occupational Therapist at Well Way Rehab Solutions in Bromsgrove
A year ago, Karl was at his daughter’s athletics training when a young athlete collapsed nearby. His heart had stopped. Without hesitation, Karl jumped in, performed CPR, and helped bring the young man back to life using a defibrillator. That moment changed everything.
It reminded Karl just how crucial fast action — and the right equipment — can be.
Now, with his rehab centre up and running, he wants to ensure is a similar situation were to happen again that he has the equipment ready so the first £1,118 will go towards purchasing a defibrillator.
The remaining funds will be donated to Andys Man Club:
Andy’s Man Club is a UK-based men’s mental health charity offering free, confidential support groups for men. Their mission is simple: to reduce male suicide by providing a safe space for men to talk, listen, and be heard — without judgment. They meet every Monday evening across the UK, encouraging men to open up and know they’re not alone.
WHAT:
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon — all within 24 hours. Covering around 23 miles of hiking and over 3,000 metres of ascent, it’s a true test of endurance, teamwork, and determination.
