Hi! My name is Jan..and one of my dearest friends is in an extreme battle with cancer. She hasn't been able to work since 2021 and currently her husband is unable to work. They need help!

Cynthia was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in 2021. She had to have a radical mastectomy. She went through treatment and remained stable for years, while campaigning for Bowling for Boobies, advocating for other cancer patients, and mentoring and meeting with them for encouragement and support on their journeys.

In the fall of 2024 she got sick and never fully recovered. She had a cough that still hasn't fully gone away. She went to the doctors and they couldn't get rid of it. Finally in July they found she had a collapsed lung and fluid build up on her lungs. After many tests, they found her cancer had returned. In August they told her she had a 4 cm tumor in her air passage near her heart. She had one chemo treatment and was unable to continue. She ended up in the hospital for about two months in Iowa City, came home to a care facility for a few weeks, was home about two weeks and back into the care facility. She was there over Thanksgiving and was able to go home just before Christmas.

In December she received more bad news. The cancer has spread to her liver, neck, shoulders, breast plate, femur and lungs. Her husband is unable to work having to be a full time caregiver. She was a recipient of a large donation late 2025, but due to all the medical expenses and her husband not being able to work they need more financial assistance.

Cynthia is one of the sweetest, most loving woman you will ever meet. She is always offering support, no matter what her circumstances and is standing in her faith and remaining positive.
