Please join me in raising money for Ellie Kern.
UPDATE: The bone marrow transplant has been postponed due to blood clots in her neck and lung. A recent PET scan also shown a new spot in her chest.
The good news is the scan did NOT show disease in her spleen and spine like previously! Doctors are recommending a few more chemo treatments before scheduling a transplant.
Her Story:
Ellie has stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma, and she needs a bone marrow transplant. She will be hospitalized for 5 weeks at Moffitt in Tampa. Her road to recovery will take a few weeks as long as there are no complications
She has already gone thru 3 chemo treatments that required her to be hospitalized for several days. After the hospital stay she becomes sick for a few days.
Ellie is also a mother of three daughters and also has a granddaughter. As you can imagine this is a very stressful time for her and her family and she needs support.
We are trying to raise enough money to cover her monthly living expense (mortgage and utility bills) for a few months while she goes thru this time.
Unfortunately, this isn’t Ellie’s first battle with cancer. Previously in 2006 she had cervical cancer. Then in 2014 she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (Primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma) with a mass on her left side of her chest.
Now Ellie has Hodgkin’s lymphoma with a mass on her right side, spleen and spine. Doctors say it is very rarely diagnosed, but it looks like “Grey Zone Lymphoma”
We greatly appreciate anything you can help with. Please share if you would, so we can help make this happen.
