We’re a team of four from Emmanuel International's Tanzania office, preparing to travel 9,000 km to Brazil to visit our Brazilian colleagues. The two countries share many similarities.

On October 15th the four of us, Jesca (an experienced community development worker), Malaki (a Tanzanian Pastor), Joel and Simon (global workers from USA and UK, based in Tanzania) head off on our two week trip. Together with our host Fred, we’ll blend ideas on church-based community development and exchange experiences of gospel ministry amongst multiple indigenous tribes and languages.

Our original fundraising target for the trip was $9,000 (£6700). With amazing support, we’ve already raised most of what we need — now we’re just $2,700 (£2,000) away from making this journey possible!

To help us cross the finish line, Joel and Simon will give you something in return for your donation; we'll attempt to run or cycle one kilometer for every dollar raised. Since we leave on 15th Oct we'll do our best to squeeze as many in by then!

Any extra funds will be used to fund the ongoing partnerships, including supporting pastor's training in both countries.

Joel is banking an easy 21km by doing a half marathon on Sunday 5th Oct!
