Phillip Drinnan was diagnosed only months ago with throat cancer. Despite treatments the cancer is inoperable and he is in palliative care in Baddeck Hospital with very little time to live. He remarried and has a new young family 9 & 11 years old. One, Cenwyn, is autistic. Due to nefarious business practices from Scotia Rainbow he lost his lifelong business & home. He had to remortgage late in life. Phil just turned 70 couple weeks ago which cancelled the life insurance on his mortgage. With only two years left on his mortgage this leaves a huge economic hardship on his wife, Jackie.
Phil has contributed to the creation of many fishery & aquaculture jobs in Waycobah. He is one of the founding fathers of aquaculture in Canada. Many including myself are in the aquaculture business for 45 years mainly due to Phillip and his father.
I ask that you help Phil’s family to keep their home. Many out there can say they owe their careers to this man’s contribution by providing jobs at crucial times. If you read this please pass on to anyone you think may not be aware of Phil’s grave situation.
As Phil has said recently, “ I am not afraid of dying but I don’t want economic burdens on my family.”
Funds will go in to his wife’s bank account directly.
I thank you all in advance for both recognizing Phillip as an honest, relentless worker with a brilliant mind that was so special because he was always putting other’s interests above his own. God knows we need more people like this
