Kindness For Kim
Donation protected
Our friend Tom Massey suffered a stroke on Labor Day. Although he did fairly well at first, he recently has suffered several set backs including sepsis, heart flutter that required 3 shocks to his heart to get him back in normal rhythm and now a round of pneumonia. He spent several weeks in the hospital before he was recently transferred to a full time rehab facility, where he is currently staying.
In the meantime, his wife and our dear friend, Kim has either stayed with him at the hospital when things were touch and go or has made a trip to be by his side every single day. She is the bread winner for the household and although her full time job with the Davie Police Department is protected through FMLA, her full time pay is NOT. Along with her full time job she has also been working 2 part time jobs in her "spare" time for the last few years. Since Tom has been having difficulties she has not been able to work any of her jobs on a regular basis. The bills keep coming, but she is not able to work to keep up with them. Looking to the short term future, even when
Tom is released from rehab he will still need home care, rides to and from therapy and doctor visits, etc. and Kim will not be able to work and take care of those obligations. So there is not proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel" in the immediate future.
Our goal is to give Kim some financial help for the next few months as this will not be a quick process. With this help she will be able to give Tom the time and help he so desperately needs but also be able to maintain her financial responsibilities while she navigates this most difficult time. There is not a more giving soul on this planet than Kim and she has done everything humanly possible to try to tread these waters on her own...but there comes a time when even the strongest need support.
Your donation will help replace missing income needed for medical bills, co-pays, mortgage payments, household bills and other financial obligations that are currently impossible for Kim to handle without help. Kim, as well as her husband Tom, are two of the finest people you would ever hope to meet...both are humble, proud and needing help is something unfamiliar...but ever so urgent at this point.
Your donations are needed as soon as possible and will be immensely appreciated.
