Katie Burnett is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Colton Summerlin.
Colton & Jennifer Summerlin had twin baby girls born on September 18, 2017. The baby girls Kinley & Kylie were premature. Kenley got to go home within a month, but Kylie stayed in the hospital for 2 months due to suffering severe brain damage and unable to eat by mouth, which resulted in a feeding tube placement. Then on January 6, 2018 Kylie, accomponied by her mother Jennifer, had to be airlifted to Miami / Nicklaus Children's Hospital. This is the current update on baby Kylie ...UPDATE ON KYLIE (Some of this we already know bot alot of this is news to us) Starting from the beginning, in utero she wasn't getting enough oxygen to the brain which caused damage. At some point in time she also had a Grade 4 brain bleed, which is the highest brain bleed. She has severe brain damage to the point where neurologists don't think her brain will heal itself. She has so much fluid in her head (more than brain tissue) becuase her brain is not growing like it should due to the damage and the fluid is taking up that extra space. Most of the brain that controls motor functions is just not there. She has spastic movement and although they cannot officially diagnose her this early, they concur that she has a mixed form of Cerebrail Palsy. The doctors has very little hope that she will ever walk, talk, eat, or do a lot of other functions. She is currently on muscle relaxers for her stiffness and spasticity and will be on those for the rest of her life. Will all of this bad news, we do have hope that with physical therapy, help from other specialists, love and dedication that we can beat the odds and overcome all the things they say she will never be able to do. Please do not show pity for us. Yes, this is very unfortunate and it is going to take a lot to accept, but this is the cards we have been dealt and now we have answers. We know what steps to take to better our situation. Nothing but positive vibes from here on out. <3 Please continue to pray for her and our familiy. We're going to need a lot of strength and hope. Thank you for all of your concern and support.
We're asking for help at this time for the family to help with expenses as they have to travel from LaBelle to Miami for all Kylie's therapy and procedures. And as for Colton, he will be out of work now and for the near future. In addition to the twins, there are also three siblings at home, so please help in any way possible. Let's show Colton, Jennifer, and familiy our love and keep them in your prayers. Thank you.
