Panda's Vet Expenses

Donation protected

My name is Bailey and yesterday my best friend got hit by a car. The driver did not even care to stop to check on her. I was calling out for Panda and she reluctantly was able to limp back into my line of vision. Once she saw that I could see her, she stopped and collapsed in the grass, which is when I realized something was wrong. Her leg was totally broken in half and I suspected internal bleeding due to the black road or tire marks on her side and back.

With help from some co-workers, I was able to get to Panda to the veterinary clinic that successfully preformed her ACL surgery just last year and also hosted the Puppy Training 101 that she'd attended in the past. The vet said that she was in stable condition considering the trauma that she'd just endured. After scans and x-rays, they confirmed the leg was broken and learned that she was suffering from some free fluids in her abdominal cavity as well as oxygen surrounding her lungs.

The clinic did an explorative surgery to pinpoint what was causing the fluid and discovered that her spleen had lacerations and would need to be removed. The vet preformed an open splenectomy and was able to relieve some of the oxygen surrounding her lungs. The first surgery was success and Panda's blood levels have remained stable since, which allows the clinic to move forward to address her leg.

Unfortunately, the broken leg is the same leg that required ACL surgery and treatment last year and ultimately will have to repeat the previous surgery, having the plate and screws replaced that keeps Panda's ACL intact and secure. This is an expensive surgery and I put all of my savings into that previous procedure, which I have not been able to replenish my savings yet. Also, the vet clinic is requiring half of the payment up front before they can start on her next surgery.

I got Panda from the humane society in 2016. She's been by my side ever since, whether it's going for long car rides to the beach, hiking around and exploring new sights, even coming to the office to help me get my work completed. Sometimes you don't realize how special someone is until you've lost them, luckily Panda is stronger than I realized in time will be well and back to her happy-go-lucky doggie-self. I adore my sweet baby and she is loved by many, some human and some 4-legged.

It does make me uncomfortable asking for financial help but I am in dire need of paying this down payment so that she can go forward with the final surgery and be on her road to recovery. Anything at all helps and it greatly appreciated, even if your thoughts and prayers are all that you can contribute. Please know how thankful I am of any type of support that is presented to help Panda.
