CVU's Girl & A Bike Campaign
Tax deductible
Want to join the CVU EnAct Club in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit The Girl & A Bike Project, funded through the US nonprofit New Community Project, and any donation will help make an impact! Thank you for your support.
The Girl & A Bike Campaign is a part of Creative Solutions for the Environment (CSE), a non-profit in Malawi with Taona Makunje at the helm. In 2019, Taona spent part of the year in Vermont working with 350 Vermont, and she came to CVU to speak to our EnAct club. Now back in Malawi, Taona reports, "The impacts of climate change on our people and land are getting worse every year and we are doing the best we can to be resilient and hopeful." The Girl & A Bike project provides bikes and scholarships to enable underprivileged girls to access secondary school education (school is sometimes 7-14 miles away). The average bike costs $75, and we've set our goal at 20 bikes. You can find out more about CSE at https://csemw.org/ and more about NCP at https://www.newcommunityproject.info/.
