Kilcock Community First Responders

Donation protected
This account has been set up on behalf of Kilcock CFR to fund the repair or replacement of the AED that was vandalised outside St Josephs school. Your support would be very much appreciated so we can get this AED reinstated ASAP.

A Little over a week ago, Kilcock CFR and St Joseph’s Board of management were made aware that the new AED (defibrillator) cabinet outside St Joseph’s school had been smashed and the AED was missing. St Joseph’s board of management secured funding for this AED and placed it in a waterproof outdoor cabinet so that it would be available to local residents and Kilcock CFR if required.

Upon inspection the AED and accessories were found nearby. This appears to have been an act of vandalism resulting in damage to the AED, it’s case and the rest of the contents.
On average Kilcock CFR respond to 1-2 call outs a week. These call outs can be for cardiac arrests, stroke, chest pain and choking. This AED was placed in this location to provide fast access to an AED for the school, local community and CFR volunteers. Every second counts when a heart has stopped.

We along with the board of management were deeply saddened by this act of vandalism.
The AED & cabinet need to be professionally checked to estimate cost of repair or if full replacement is necessary. This could cost upwards of €1250.
