Let's fight brain cancer together
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Trudie. I have a grade 2 chondrosarcoma of the brain. I had surgery on March 6th, and they were able to safely remove half of my tumor. The rest is hard to get to. It is surrounded by nerves and vital brain functions, so they cannot operate further.
What they would like to do is radiation, but the type they need to do to get rid of it is highly dangerous. It would require them to do the highest level of radiation for the full time, at least 6 weeks. What they would like to do is what is called proton radiation because it is safer. It would help kill the cancer and leave the rest of my brain okay.
That all being said, I do have decent insurance, but I am a single mom of three teenage daughters and a grandma to one adorable grandbaby. They all live with me, and I will need help with expenses. We do not have a proton machine for the radiation where I live, so we would have to travel. Between gas, food, and regular expenses for my girls, I could use some help. Anything would be helpful. Please and thank you.
