Anyone that has the pleasure of having Carrie Gunter as a friend or as family, has been blessed. To know her, is to love her! Her beautiful smile has always brightened any room. She is the most selfless, dedicated, hard working woman you’d meet.
As many of you know her health has been a top priority the last two years , attempting to get a hold of the RA & to make her feel like her beautiful self again.
After a few concerns & a few visits to more doctors, we received the dreaded news of the “C” word.
Totally heartbreaking to hear.
Carrie was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer the last week of August. We were told at that time she would possibly lose her kidney. After last weeks visit with the surgeon, we are hopeful that they can just go in & remove the cancer and NOT the kidney. She has been scheduled for surgery October 2nd. She will be hospitalized for days after & out of work for 3-4 weeks or more. After we had started the process of understanding that was “real life” Carrie was scheduled for a lung scan, Tuesday of last week those results were back. Hearts were rocked again, as there is small nodule showing on her lung. Doctor stated “get through the kidney process & then we’ll worry about the lung”
Carrie has a road of healing ahead, many doctors appointments & drives to Lexington to kick the “C” word to the curb.
We are asking that you pray for peace of mind for her, and if you can help it would be greatly appreciated in her time of need to make her mind a little more at ease with medical expenses. Nothing will go unappreciated!
-Much love to all ♥️
