I'm Tom Svircev, President of the Chula Vista Model & RC Club (CVMRCC). Our club is trying to raise funds to do some required maintenance to our field, including resurfacing of the runway and clearing of encroaching brush. We normally raise enough funds through our membership dues and through events we hold throughout the year. Unfortunately we've had a bad couple of years. First, at the end of 2019, we were hit with a major flood that covered the field, and in a really unusual year it was flooded again before we could even clean up after the first one. (The photo is from an event prior to the flooding.) At the same time, due to the FAA's new oversight of model aviation, we were forced to shut down for months in 2020 while we renegotiated our Letter of Agreement with the nearby airport. And Covid hit. This has negatively affected our membership and our opportunity to fundraise through events. We now find ourselves in need of some help to repair our runway and get things back up to snuff in order to attract members and hold events once more. We're hoping for donations of $50 from members, but anything will help.
