NSW bushfires
***raising funds for NSW RFS and PORT MACQUARIE KOALA HOSPITAL.
Hey everyone, there’s so much we could say about the state of our country burning before our eyes, but in the words of Joel right now ‘this is f*cked, the bushfires are f*cked.’ There’s nothing else we really can say but we want to do something; more importantly we NEED to do something. Joel and I are travelling from Adelaide to the East Coast in our caravan in January/Feb and want to help however big or small that may be. We would love to give a donation on behalf of our Adelaide community (or interstate or international community too) to show that we are here supporting them, it really is the least that we can do in this time of crisis and hell on earth.
We want to split the funds that are raised between the NSW RFS and the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. We want to donate in person if we can (provided our paths of travel are safe to do so) with a cash donation for the PMKH as we hope to go in and see the hospital, but if we aren't able to do so then it will be via bank transfer. The half for the NSW RFS will be through a bank transfer. These are organisations we've chosen that we feel are in most need of funding and the money will support direct action being taken. Joel spent most of his life living in Port Macquarie and we feel as strongly about helping wildlife and animals as we do about human beings, therefore the PMKH was a no brainer for us. I think that everyone can agree that there are no words to convey the amount of gratitude there is for the workers and volunteers of the NSW RFS so we need to support them with money for resources to ensure safety for everyone. We are unsure as to how the funds will be spent when they are passed onto the organisations; but we know that they are working around the clock through the duration of the fires to keep people, animals, the earth and the possessions we own as safe as possible. We really hope that you can get behind this. Love Kel and Joel. *dot painting image done by Tarisse King.
